Learning knows no place or time

There are those days that our kids are prodding us to do something or go somewhere, but it seems our creative juices  have momentarily dried up and there's shortage of tricks up our sleeves, or it's simply a "I don't wanna bother a lot" days. Here's a suggestion: Look around you!

A couple of mornings ago, I discovered something. There's a beautiful view on our very backyard. A rice field! With white birds flying around it! It's not that I haven't looked at the backyard before, maybe it's a case of not really "seeing" and appreciating.

And so i called my daughter  and just as i expected, she loves it so much more than I do.

A stream of water from the rain the previous night.

Kids love to wade their hands and feet with any form of water. Simple pleasures we tend to outgrow. Which made me ask: In what turning point did we forget all about these? The simplicity of pleasures?

We also saw a "bracket fungus". We actually don't know how it is called but after a small trip with Google voila! New knowledge!

Afterwards, we move to a woody lawn in front of a highschool where I went to and  predictably, the kid had a blast!

We lied down on the grass, enumerated the shapes of the clouds. She said human, angel, etc

We played around. We used these dried twigs in stick-fencing, stick-bending, and stick-jumping. She pretended to cook  using the leaves, twigs, and we role play different characters. Most often she's the mom and I'm her child. She also assisted me in my child delivery(her most favorite role).
